Jules is a Connecticut-based tattoo apprentice. In their spare time, they’re an oil painter, a fiber artist, a one-time mixed-media quilter, a former rugby president, a gift-giver, and a big fan of thinking. They played rugby at the University of Chicago, where they graduated with a degree in visual arts in 2024.

Christiana is a writer, women's sports fanatic, and former overly-intense youth soccer player living in Brooklyn. Their writing focuses on personal essays and culture, and they're currently building a small media org focusing on women's sports in NYC. Substack

Al Davey (they/them)
AL is a Boston-based, queer, retired Army veteran and club photographer for the Boston Banshees. Their documentary-style work captures the grit and emotion of women's sports through candid moments and raw energy. AL also produces and hosts The Sideline Snapshot, a post-game women's Boston sports podcast. Through every photo and conversation, their goal is simple: document the game honestly and help women's sports receive the attention they deserve. Portfolio

Rosa Escandon (she/her)
Rosa Escandon is a writer, creative, and former standup comedian living in Brooklyn, NY. Aside from working as an entertainment journalist and ghost writer, she publishes a weekly newsletter on classic film (Watch the Gap,) is working on her first novel, and appears in the queer/trans ghost hunting show, Liminal. Aubrey Fite (she/her)
Aubrey is an illustrator and printmaker whose work is inspired by her stoke for the outdoors and passion for protecting public lands. Originally from West Texas, she set up camp in Bozeman, Montana at the beginning of 2021. Her work focuses on National Parks, outdoor recreation, and Montana wildlife. She recently acquired a refurbished risograph printer and will soon start taking print orders for other artists and small businesses.

A Jersey girl with a deep love for women's sports, queer joy, and equal rights. Passionate about uniting community through sport, coffee, and beer. Currently strategizing social at the NWSL.

Gal Pal Games
Gal Pal Games is Allison Cole and Dora Dee Rogers, writers and game designers. We are gal pals, and together we make tabletop role-playing games about femininity, lesbian culture, and sapphic love. One of us is fat and one of us is trans, and we celebrate those things in our work.

Katie Gunderman (she/her)
Associate social media manager for SELF and Allure, where she enjoys spotlighting women’s sports through thoughtful storytelling. As a former college athlete, her passion for sports continues to shape how she tells athletes’ stories.

Pallas M. Gutierrez (they/them)
A butch writer, softball player, and Local One stagehand from Queens, NY. Pallas writes about the intersection of queerness and sports, the internet, arts, and unions. Their writing has been featured in Autostraddle, and they are a contributing writer at Salon Avec Moi.

Catlin Hedeman (she/her)
Mainly watches women's sports for the queers, obviously. Her life goals include becoming a Lynx season ticket holder, playing more rec sports, and completing as many puzzles as possible.

Heidi Hicks (they)
Heidi Hicks is a St. Pete–based printmaker whose work explores queer experiences through bold linocuts and vibrant risograph prints. Their practice blends personal narrative with the organized chaos of the natural world, using its patterns as a model for queer community, resilience, and history.

Stella Horns (any pronouns)
A writer and researcher based in Los Angeles who specializes in politics and sport. Find them running the newsletter Thinking About Sports, working as a tailor and seamstress, or making strange new kinds of lemonade. Bluesky | Newsletter

Aditri Janapatla (she/her)
Aditri is a journalism student who gets excited by creative storytelling and shining a light on women's sports. She is especially drawn to stories beyond the scoreboard and focus on the people, community and growth.

Jessie Johnson (she/her)
Jessie is a sports photographer and documentarian. While she mainly works with the sports of weightlifting and fencing, she always jumps at the opportunity to elevate the stories of women - especially queer women - in sport. Oh, also, she's trans.

Ashley Jones (she/her, they/them)
Ashley is a librarian from Metro Detroit who has a passion for ice curling. She curls at the Detroit Curling Club in Ferndale, Michigan. She is grateful for the support from her incredible wife, Keaton Jones, who encourages her to follow her dreams. She is also thankful for her bonus family and her brother, Jack Czaja, for always cheering her on and supporting her.

Nicole Mattick (she/her)
As a queer and disabled graphic designer, Nicole's relationship with sports has been complicated over the years. However, watching the NWSL and the WPBL now brings her immense joy and a sense of community that she never thought she would experience when she was younger. Nicole is also deeply passionate about changing how society views individuals with disabilities and uses her art as a medium to convey this message.

Charlie Myran
Charlie is a Philadelphia-based coach and educator who works full-time in sports media. They love to cook (then eat), read (then write), and is HYPE for women's pro sports to finally land in Philly.

Molly Ni Shiacais (she/they)
Dublin-born, London based lover of the sea, mountains, fur coats and a good long run.

Giulia Nonne (she/her)
Born and raised in Sardegna, by a winterless sea, but a fan of figure skating. Has a degree in Storytelling and contemporary humanities, but when people ask, she simply says “writing.” Likes too many things and she’s on a quest to master at least some of them, including digital illustration, hostel hunting and Korean.

Emily Ohman (she/they)
Currently based in Chicago, Emily is a sports journalist who co-hosts and produces the Sports Gays Unite podcast with their girlfriend. She has covered professional and collegiate Bay Area teams for AP, is a part of the editorial team at The GIST, and is particularly interested in the intersections of fandom, geography and regional cultures. Nienke is a writer and editor passionate about storytelling in Phoenix, Arizona. You can also find her writing her silly sports romance, watching F1 Academy, and sewing book sleeves with her cat for company. When her partner introduced her to hockey and motorsport, she fell in love with the playground of sports narratives, especially about queer and women's sports. Substack

MJ Peters (she/her)
MJ’s always been associated with two things: ice hockey and photography. She started between the pipes when she was 7 and thought getting hit with pucks would be a fun way to spend her weekends. She went on to play collegiately at Connecticut College and was a photographer for their athletic department. She’s now a freelance photographer/videographer working out of Boston, MA and San Francisco, CA.

Maddy is a photographer and Master of Human Rights student based in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Her research and creative work are inspired by a love for women’s sport and commitment to improving 2SLGBTQ+ rights in sport.

Alexandra Sarette
Alexandra is a queer creative working and living in San Francisco. Her work be it writing, curating, or making strives to be an action of social awareness and community care. When she isn’t crating you can find her at a Valkyries game.

Julia is an illustrator, writer, and children's book designer based in Brooklyn. She's not particularly athletic, but played one season in her college's women's rugby club so she could hang out with cool lesbians. When she’s not drawing, she’s probably taking a walk with an audiobook, browsing graphic novels at her local indie bookstore, or chasing down dogs to pet.

Rachelle Smith (she/her, they/them)
A queer science teacher by day, she moonlights as an occasionally published poet and semi-amateur endurance athlete in the north of Sweden. Along with the above she is a mother who is constantly amazed by what the bodies of those who birth other humans can accomplish in sport and life alike.

Christie Spessard (she/her)
Actor, playwright, dancer, and freelance magazine writer based in Brooklyn. Her background in competitive figure skating fuels her creative projects and approach to life, and she’s equally enamored and disgusted by the sport.

Carrie Surawski (she/her)
Carrie is a queer multimedia artist and lover of the outdoors. She spends her free time creating handpoke tattoos, hosting art nights, and cooking yummy food to share with friends. Carrie has a desire to support creatives and find connection through art.

Writer, journalist, and multimedia editor based in Toronto. She writes about culture, community, climate change and so much more. When she isn’t chasing stories, you can find her watching way too much reality TV.

A former art student transformed into a jock by the power of sports anime! JW started ice skating lessons on a whim in their 20s, and now, almost a decade later, they struggle to remember what life was like before they donned the knife shoes.
