We Made a Queer Kiss Cam, Because Nobody Else Was Going To
Kiss cams are a staple of live sports. They've been at men's games for decades — a crowd moment so standard it barely registers anymore. But at women's sporting events, they're still rare. And when queer fans are in the frame, the discomfort is palpable. Queer people kissing at a game is still too often quietly categorized as "not family friendly" — as if the families filling those stands aren't ours too.
So last summer, we stopped waiting for permission and made our own.
In the summer of 2025, Snatch teamed up with Women's Sports Rally to bring a queer kiss cam photobooth to their WNBA watch parties at Henrietta Hudson — the iconic queer bar in New York City's West Village that has been holding space for queer women since 1991. Friends, lovers, teammates, and situationships all stepped in front of the camera and did exactly what kiss cams were made for: they kissed. They pecked. They dipped each other. They laughed. They were, without exception, absolutely adorable.
We collected those photos into a zine.
The Kiss Cam Zine is a document of a room full of queer women watching women's sports together and feeling completely at home — which is both a simple thing and, depending on where you've been trying to watch a game, a radical one. Women's Sports Rally has been building community around women's sports with an intentional eye toward queer inclusion, and this collaboration felt like a natural extension of what both of our communities are already doing: showing up, taking up space, and making it better for everyone who comes after.
