  • Who is behind Snatch?

Hi! I’m Sophia Mitropoulos, an artist, storyteller, athlete, and longtime women’s sports fan. With a background in branding, storytelling, and community-building, I’ve always been drawn to the intersection of sports and art. I started Snatch to carve out more space for creativity and culture in women’s sports, highlighting not just the athletes, but the fans, the aesthetics, and the energy that make this world special.

  • What's the history of Snatch?

Snatch was originally created as a zine celebrating women in strength sports in 2017 and ran until 2020. In December 2024, it rebranded and relaunched as a media and merchandise project centered on creativity, fandom, and the power of play.

The DIY ethos is the same. The bold, graphic aesthetic is the same. The love for the women who populate these sports is the same. Now, Snatch is bigger—covering more sports, more stories, and more ways to celebrate the culture of women’s sports through art, print, and merch.

Snatch is independently run, with collaborations from artists, writers, and creatives who love women’s sports as much as we do.
