Saying Goodbye

Hi friends,

It is with a heavy heart that I announce we must say goodbye to Snatch Magazine.

I have decided to close down the storefront and our last day of business will be July 31st, 2020. After that day, Snatch Magazine will no longer be selling merchandise on our website. The website and socials will remain up for archival purposes but will no longer be actively updated.

As you may know, Snatch Magazine is and always has been independently run. It was created as a school project during my senior year of college in attempts to create a space where I could see myself represented in the sport that I loved.

It has since grown beyond my wildest dreams these past few years and for so long I enjoyed hearing from each of you and packing love notes in your orders. The decision to close down this business was not an easy one. I have deeply enjoyed creating work that resonates with others, and forging relationships with you all.

Last year, I made a personal decision to retire from the sport of weightlifting and have since been grappling with creating work about a sport that I have fallen out of love with and been so broken by, feeling inauthentic in the process.

I would like to thank all of you for being here and having supported me and my work over the years

Snatch Magazine could not have been as successful as it was without your loyalty and involvement, which instilled boundless confidence in me as an artist and creator which will not soon be forgotten.

I want you to know that this is certainly not the end of me creating art or selling it online for that matter, but it is the end of my path with the fitness industry. These days, I’ve been pivoting as an artist and have begun creating YouTube videos, which I would be thrilled to have your support on.

If you’d like to shop before we close down, you can use the code ILYGOODBYE for 25% off any order over $15. Remaining inventory after that will still be available on my Etsy storefront.

Thank you so much for being here, you all really made this worth all the efforts of running this project.

Yours in strength,

Sophia
